Come relax with a Facelifting Massage.

This type of massage therapy is a combination of massage therapy, lymphatic drainage, and acupressure points to assist in regenerating collagen and elastin tissue which helps to tighten, tone, and firm your skin while diminishing fine lines and wrinkles. Hot towels will be used to help melt away all that built up stress. This wonderfully relaxing treatment can lessen wrinkles and expression lines, tightens facial contours, tones and improves the complexion, releases stress and tension in surrounding muscles, soothes tension headaches, eyestrain and stress related symptoms, enhances feelings of wellbeing and encourages a positive attitude. Stimulating the face muscles with regular massage helps to bring oxygen to that area in itself. More blood flow to the area increases collagen production, which gives a healthy and natural glow to the complexion. Just like exercising, face massage tones and firms the skin. This treatment is ideal for the face with fine lines or for someone who is trying to avoid getting wrinkles as we age.

Lymphatic Drainage - Gentle rhythmic strokes increase the flow of lymph and reduce toxins in your body.

Acupressure Points - Application of pressure ( as with the thumbs or fingertips) to relieve tense muscles, encourage blood circulation. Pressing on acupressure points may reduce need for pain medicine, relax your body and brain, reduce wrinkles, and relieve or reduce pain.

Collagen - The main structural protein found in skin and other connective tissues. Vitamin C plays a vital role in the formation of collagen. Most abundant protein in the human body, found in the bones, muscles, skin, and tendons. Collagen consists of amino acids wound together to form triple - helices form elongated fibrils. Collagen is a protein found especially in the joints ( = places where two bones are connected)

Elastin - A protein forming the main constituent of elastic connective tissue, found especially in the dermis of the skin.

Dermis - The thick layer of living tissue below the epidermis that forms the true skin, containing blood capillaries, nerve endings, sweat glands, hair follicles, and other structures.

Blood Capillaries - Smallest of the body's blood vessels. They are only one cell thick, and they are the sites of the transfer of oxygen and other nutrients from the bloodstream to the other tissues in the body; they also collect carbon dioxide waste materials. Capillaries carry blood away from the body and exchange nutrients, waste, and oxygen with tissues at the cellular level.

Nerve endings - They lie near blood vessels between epithelial layers of the skin, cornea, the alimentary tract, and in connective tissues. In joints, they are found between the synovial and fibrous layers, and within the fibrous layer itself.
